Sydney Bhajan Mandali Inc (SBM) - Established on 17th May 2014 and has been supporting/promoting the traditional Indian Devotional music in form of Bhajans among the community.

A Bhajan is an informal, loosely structured devotional song with music in any regional language of India. The themes are loving devotion to a deity, legends from the Epics or the Puranas, compositions of Bhakti movement saints, or spiritual themes from Hindu scriptures. It has no fixed format and it may be as simple as a mantra or kirtan (lyrical composition) or as sophisticated as the dhrupad or Kriti (composition) with music based on classical Indian ragas and talas. Anecdotes and episodes from scriptures, the teachings of saints and descriptions of gods have all been the subject of bhajans.

SBM aims to provide a window of opportunity for the local community at large to experience this rich tradition of Indian devotional music (Bhajans). It is also aimed at involving the youth as well as kids and passing on this rich tradition to the younger generation thereby promoting the principles of Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Right Conduct), Prema (Love), Shanthi (Peace) and Ahimsa (Non-Violence).

Sydney Bhajan Mandali (SBM) organises bhajan programmes by involving the local professionals on specific important days of Hindu calendar and by the overseas artistes minimum once in a year.
